Iceland Day one

Well, we’re here in Reykjavik, and already had our first big adventure. Being lazy and using the tour site’s descriptions:

Our route leads first through the Thjórsádalur Valley stopping at Hjálparfoss, one of Iceland’s loveliest waterfalls

and the hot springs of the Landmannalaugar oasis. This is your opportunity to bathe in the natural hot springs or join an included short guided hike. Landmannalaugar with its amazing colors is a fantastic place to discover some of the wonders of Iceland

before heading for active Mount Hekla, the queen of Icelandic volcanoes. We will drive to a height of 950 meters up the side of the volcano to capture the astounding views in all directions.

We’re both still somewhat jetlagged and yesterday was long and tiring in a series of increasingly massive ATVs. That added to numb arses from planes and airports wasn’t great, but the scenery!

Today it’s a national park with glaciers and birds, we hope. Pictures tomorrow mebbe. The iThing is not the easiest way to compose 🙂

Oh and business class? Verra nice. Made crappy Icelandair even crappier by comparison. Bu the best part of flying is definitely the stopping.
