This was my first glimpse of Antarctica, at 6 am on 30 December:
So this is the kind of thing we were seeing long before we ‘officially’ started cruising in Antarctica
Around about now we were either in or close to Dallman Bay
It’s impossible to fully express how majestic and gorgeous the scenery was, how perfect the weather, how still and beautiful the sea was. We barely dared to stop to pee or eat, and we took turns at the camera so we didn’t miss a thing.
And yet some people preferred to talk in a windowless room. Nuts!
The way the landscape mirrors in the water. Absolutely stunning.
We had unbelievable good fortune with the weather and a captain smart enough to make sure we got to enjoy it, that’s for sure.
